"Pope repeats, condoms not AIDS answer"

USA Today's Cathy Lynn Grossman has piece on what the Pope said about condoms, citing author Amy Welborn among others.
Immediately, the Internet and some newscasts lit up with a breathless mangling of the pope's comments and their significance, says Catholic author and blogger Amy Wellborn. She was among the select few to have an advance, embargoed text of the book, Light of the World: The Pope, the Church and the Signs of the Times.

  1. Ok. But did the pope make a rare exception or not? Sometimes I think media people miss the forest for the trees when it comes to listening to people or reading their comments.

    The point of the pope's comment is, the intention of the condom user not to infect his partner can be a first step toward a more human way of living sexuality. It's the good intention, not the condom use, that can lead to a better way of thinking and acting when it comes to sex.
